Pinyon and Wilson Benchmarks are located along a ridge known as Pinyon ridge. There is an old 4WD jeep trail that winds along this ridge. We followed this road along the ridge as we made our way to the top of both benchmarks. -

Granite Mountain is located in western Anza Borrego. It has many ridges which can easily be climbed. The most popular route starts a mile west of S2 and a few miles south of 78. This is the route we chose to hike. -

Elevation: 5,900 ft.
Date Hiked: 2-6-2011
Trip Report:
Garnet Peak is located on the eastern edge of the Laguna Mountains. It has one of the best views in San Diego county. The hike to the summit is short and easy but makes a good training hike. This was my second time hiking this mountain. -

SDC #26
Elevation: 2,240 ft.
Date Hiked: 11-13-2010
Trip Report:
Indian Hill is the site of an early Indian settlement in eastern San Diego county. It is also near an old railroad camp. There are remains of both settlements along a 6.4 mile loop. This loop also passes the Carrizo palm grove, which is one of the densest palm groves in Anza Borrego. -

Trip Report:
The thimble is a mountain located in the San Ysidro Mountains in San Diego County. I had wanted to hike this mountain and was planning on hiking it last January but snow made that impossible. I was back today to try it again and there was no snow this time. -

Trip Report:
This was the second Omega Group hike I did and was also my second DPS peak. Although I have not hiked Jacumba Mountain I believe this peak to be the easiest DPS peak in San Diego county. This peak has two routes, a longer more gradual ascent from the west or a shorter steeper ascent from the east. We chose to ascend from the east. -

SDC: #17Elevation: 3,960 ft.
Date Hiked: 2-12-10
Trip Report:
I attempted this peak just 6 days earlier in the rain and solo. I did not summit and wanted to return as soon as possible. This was a difficult climb and after completing it this week knew I had made the right decision by turning back last weekend. Although I had made it to 3500 ft. I still had hours of climbing before returning to the car. This weekend I attempted this peak again, this time with a climbing partner, Peter and in clear weather.
