-Garnet Peak(2)-
Elevation: 5,900 ft.
Date Hiked: 2-6-2011
Trip Report:
Garnet Peak is located on the eastern edge of the Laguna Mountains. It has one of the best views in San Diego county. The hike to the summit is short and easy but makes a good training hike. This was my second time hiking this mountain. -

-San Gorgonio Attempt from South Fork-
Elevation: 11,499 ft.
Date Hiked: 1-22 to 1-23-2011
Trip Report:
I have wanted to hike San Gorgonio in winter for quite awhile. I had never been up the South Fork in the summer or winter so I wanted to go with a group that knew the area. There was a meetup posted with the SoCal Hikers and Peakbaggers which I joined. -

-Mt. Woodson From Poway Lake-
SDC: #27
Elevation: 2,855 ft.
Date Hiked: 1-8-2011
Trip Report:
Mt. Woodson is a popular hiking and climbing spot in San Diego county. There are two routes to the top, a paved road from the east and a nice trail from Lake Poway to the west. The road up the east side of the mountain has established climbing routes on many of the large boulders. The trail from Lake Poway is longer than the road and makes a good training hike.Black Mountain to the West

-Mt. Laguna Snow-
01.08.11 | Permalink | 2 CommentsThis past weekend the San Diego mountains finally got snow. I took a drive over Sunrise highway to see the snow. It only took 45 min to get to Sunrise highway from San Diego. The snow started around 5,000 ft and got heavier the higher I drove. The roads were not too bad and were mostly clear all the way to Julian. The snow stopped about 5 miles north of the Mt. Laguna store. I could see Anza Borrego through the clouds the few places along I road where I stopped. Here are a few of the photos from the drive.
